This is an admissions application for RETURNING FAMILIES for the 2026/27 School Year. All fields must be completed for the application to be considered.

LAF leadership will make every effort to process applications as quickly as possible. In many cases, we will need to schedule a Zoom interview to gather more information. All decisions will be emailed to the address entered below. Please be sure your email is entered correctly.

To guarantee that your application will be processed in time to register on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, returning families must submit this application NO LATER than 5:00 pm ET on Friday, 4/17/26. Applications received after this deadline may not be processed until after the public registration dates.

Do you fully understand that we are not a school or church program, and as such, we are not equipped to manage custody disputes, major disciplinary issues, mental health challenges, threats of violence, or potential child abuse (from an adult or another child)? Have you read our definitions for rude, mean, and bullying as listed on our website (learningandfamilies.org/code-of-conduct/)? Do you understand and accept that LAF leadership uses these definitions to determine whether or not the word "bullying" is appropriate in a given situation? Our focus is on providing a safe learning environment, however, we are not equipped to thoroughly investigate accusations of these behaviors. If there is a report of bullying that fits this definition, we may ask parents on only one or both sides to sit in on all classes, attend events and activities, and otherwise remain with their student throughout the day without any kind of deep investigation. All decisions are at the full discretion of the Board of Directors and are final. *

If you are not planning to register for the Co-op, you can now submit your application. Please be aware that if you do want to register for Co-op in the future, we will need to RESUBMIT this application with the Co-op questions completed before you will be approved to select classes.

As a learning community, it's important that every family (junior program, as well as middle and high school classes) is committed to the success of the learning environment. Although parents are the directors of their student's education, by participating in the LAF Co-op you are agreeing to uphold the fullness of the Academic Integrity Policy, unless previously agreed upon with a facilitator or in the event of an unforeseen circumstance. Are there any special needs that we need to be aware of that might prevent one or more of your students from completing their assigned work? *

Are you willing to check your email multiple times per week and respond to ALL emails from LAF, including Facilitators?

Are you willing to stay abreast of the syllabus in every class, monitor your student's assignments, ensure that they participate to the best of their ability, communicate any challenges with the facilitators, and ensure that your student completes all that is expected with excellence?

Do you understand that beginning the 2026/27 school year, we will encourage facilitators to document all academic breaches at all grade levels, including elementary. This includes failure to complete assignments, poor performance on tests, homework, projects, presentations, etc. Repeat occurrences without a specialized plan in place may result in removal from the program. Please note that our heart is not to call anyone OUT, but to call all students UP to their highest level of performance.
