Stretch & Conditioning
Facilitator: Gabrielle Mundy
In this class we will combine cardio, strength conditioning, and stretching.
We will focus on endurance, strength-building exercises, and flexibility.
This will help strengthen you for your other dance classes. We will learn why cardio, conditioning, and stretching safely are important for your body. This class isn’t just about getting fit; it’s also about preventing injuries and preparing our bodies for dance!

Ballet
Facilitator: Gabrielle Mundy
Classical ballet is the foundation of dance. It prepares you for all other dance styles. In this class, the goal is to teach principles of technique. We will be paying attention to proper body alignment, turn out, posture, coordination, and balance. In ballet, dancers improve muscle control, poise, carriage, fluidity, and grace. Disciplined students aspiring to the advanced level will learn Barre work, Adagio, Petite Allegro, Turns, Leaps, and Combinations both in center and across the floor. If you are interested in becoming more serious about dance, Ballet is the most important place to start.
Required Materials
- Tan tights
- Black leotards
- Pink ballet shoes
- Dance skirt if desired
- (No shorts or pants so the instructor can see the lines of your movement more clearly)

Jazz
Facilitator: Gabrielle Mundy
Jazz is a fun, high-energy dance style that develops technique, rhythm, and style while building strength. It improves flexibility, and body awareness and often incorporates sharp lines, isolations, turns, jumps, and emphasizing musicality and expression. This class strengthens your ability to interpret and express various music styles. Classes begin with a warm up and continue with across the floor progressions based in technique. Class can also end up back in the center for fun and exciting dance combinations. This fast paced, energetic class conditions and tones the body, encourages aerobic capacity and overall fitness, and is a favorite among students!

Contemporary-Improv/Dancing Prayers
Facilitator: Gabrielle Mundy
Contemporary dance is a style that shares technical and artistic similarities to classical ballet, modern dance and jazz. Contemporary dance allows for freedom of expression to tell a story through movement and is appealing to students who are drawn to emotional interpretation of music.
While a strong ballet background will enhance contemporary movement, this style is often more natural and free-flowing, incorporating lines that are contrary to ballet, including off-center work, parallel lines, contraction and release, principles of fall and recovery, floor work, and improvisation.
We will do a warm up, floor progressions and variations that explore movement dynamic, levels and tempo. We will incorporate improvisation in this class.
This will teach you how to create your own movement on the spot without pre planning. It will help you discover how to create movement to different tempos of music as well.
We will also incorporate dancing prayers into the improvisation. This will be a time where you will have the opportunity to pray over one another through your dance improvisation.
Required Materials
- Tan tights
- Black leotards
- Dance shorts
- Contemporary Dance Footies
